Крис Уилсон был барабанщиком группы на записи третьего альбома The Chronicles of Life and Death, выпущеного в 2004 году. Популярные синглы — «Predictable», «I Just Wanna Live», «We Believe» и «The Chronicles of Life and Death». Музыкальный стиль этого альбома несколько отличается от двух предыдущих.

В мае 2005, Крис покинул группу из-за проблем со здоровьем. Также Бенджи рассказал журналу Kerrang!, что худшей частью 2005 года стал уход Криса.

Четвёртый альбом 'Good Charlotte' ожидался в октябре 2006 года. Продюсером диска был Дон Гилмор, который работал над первым альбомом. Причиной этого стало желание группы вернуться к «old school» стилю.
